Chloe's 9 Month Checkup

Today I had to take Chloe to the doctor for her 9 month checkup this of course means shots. She was due for a hemoglobin check which means they prick her finger and then check to see if she has anemia and then she had 1 shot she had to get.

When we first got there we waited in the small waiting room where there was a small table and chairs. I let Chloe sit on one of the chairs she loved it and sat there playing with her toys. After that we got called in for her height and weight measurements. She is 27 1/4 inches tall which is in the 50th percentile and she weighs 19 lbs 12 oz which is in the 70th percentile. After her measurements we sit in the room waiting for the doctor to come in. While waiting Chloe played around on the chairs waiting for him to come in and take a look.

Chloe has had a few random nose bleeds last week which the doctor said is normal because the air has been dry and just to put a little saline in her nose. Other then that she was healthy with everything else he looked at which is great. Next the tech comes in and he starts off by pricking her finger and then taking a little of her blood. Chloe was great with this process no crying at all which I was glad for. Then I had to lay her on the table for her 1 shot as soon as the needle went in she screamed her little head off poor little baby but after I put her jeans on I gave Chloe her bottle and she stopped crying right away it always does the trick. So we were done with the checkup and overall she is a healthy little girl who is right on track for where she needs to be. Chloe has done great on all of her checkup's a little crying after the shots but she calms down right away she is such a great baby.

Organic Baby Shampoo

Friday I read an article about how Johnson and Johnson started making their baby shampoo with two known chemicals that cause cancer. I decided to start doing a little more research and soon found out that this was indeed true that J&J admitted that it was true and that they will work over the next 2 years to remove these 2 chemicals out of the shampoo. The problem I had the most was that they actually make these shampoos without these 2 ingredients and they sell them in other countries. So why will it take them so long to remove them when they are already making this product without the ingredients and selling them in other countries.

After gathering all this information I decided I was done using this shampoo and that I was going to find an organic baby shampoo. My thought was that it takes me months to use a bottle of baby shampoo so why not spend a little more just to make sure she is safe. Matt thinks I am insane but I don't care and I figure it's one thing I can do to help her out. So I did a little research and found a great line of baby organic products. They are called California Baby and the best part about it is I can buy them at Target. So Saturday I went down to Target and bought a bottle of baby shampoo and body wash. I am very excited and have already thrown out all my J&J products so here is to the start of my organic baby products.

Matt's Birthday

Today is Matt's birthday he turned 34 and Chloe also happened to turn 9 months old today. Matt worked that morning so he didn't get home till 2:30pm. He started off by opening his present. I got him a crossbow which he absolutely loves and couldn't wait to try out. He practiced shooting it a few times in the yard and keeps wanting to go out somewhere in the desert and try killing something but I figure he can do that on his own I am not interested in heading out to watch him practice shooting at things. After presents we went to Chili's for dinner. Chloe was awesome she sat in a booster seat next to Matt and ate her little Gerber graduate treats. In fact she stuffed herself so much that after she finished eating she threw herself back and just laid there like uh I'm fat and happy it was so cute. We had just a nice relaxing day being together it was awesome and now my two are just a little older. I love you so much Happy Birthday Matt!

My Birthday Two

New Years Resolution

Well it's that time of year again to make those resolutions and I too have one that I am planning on accomplishing. Last year Matt and I began working on a plan to get out of debt. After reading Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover we decided it was time for us to get on board. So we started our plan. I must say we made huge headway's in accomplishing our start we were able to get Matt's motorcycle completely paid off this was only 1 year after we bought it. It feels great to now own his Harley. So my goal this year is to continue what we have started but by December 31, 2012 to be debt free. I am so excited to set this goal and I know we can accomplish it. Matt and I have been working hard and not spending a lot on extra things. We still have a few fun things planned this year but I know we will manage those plus our goal.
