8 Year Anniversary

Today is our 8 year anniversary. Wow it has gone by so fast and has been an amazing 8 years. We have had so much fun and have been very blessed the last 8 years. We have managed to have 1 little girl and another baby on the way. We have moved 5 times and lived in 2 states. We've been through 2 deployments together and several different trainings which kept us apart but each time we came out stronger and more in love with each other then we were before. I can't imagine where I'd be without Matt in my life. Honestly it's like we are two pieces of a puzzle that just fit together. We have so much fun and no matter what we are doing we always have a great laugh. I'm so excited that as we continue to build our life together we have each other. Just a few pictures of us over the years.

Daddy Daughter Night

Since I had book club tonight Matt decided it was time for his first daddy daughter date night.  He started off by taking Chloe to jiu jitsu because he needed to pick up some t-shirts. They had just started a demonstration on a new move they were going to learn so of course it was dead silent as the guy gets flipped on to the mat Chloe yells oh he fell down giggles and then screams do it again.  Of course everyone is laughing since everyone hears here in the silence. But that's ok everyone thought she was the cutest thing.  Of course she loves all the fighting and couldn't get enough watching. After they left Matt took her to Olive Garden for dinner where they enjoyed a nice meal. When they got home I asked Chloe if she had a good dinner she tells me yes I had chicken,  noodles (spaghetti), grapes, bread and a coke (raspberry lemonade). She couldn't stop talking about the night and seemed to have a great night.  I love that she and Matt went out together I'm sure when she gets a little older it will become a monthly tradition.

Day 17

I am thankful that we are able to provide enough food every day for both us and our children. I can't imagine what it's like to know that you do not have enough money to be able to feed your own kids. I love that the schools have created programs to help these children and know that they are able to get at least two meals a day. I know schools I went to were even able to provide these services on Saturday's. Anytime I get the opportunity to donate to the food bank I take it. I want not only the children but the adults to be able to go to bed with a full stomach. I try very hard not to waste food cause I know somewhere out there someone is going to be on an empty stomach and it makes me sad. Hopefully one day everyone will have enough to eat.

Day 16

I am thankful that I was able to get pregnant and have a baby. I know a lot of woman struggle with this and I am grateful that I was not one of them. I have both family and friends who have struggled to have kids and some that were never able to. I know what a huge blessing Chloe has been for us and I know that for some people it's just not able to happen. It makes me sad especially with all the bad parents out their so I am very thankful for our kids.

Day 15

I am so thankful for running power. There are so many people in other countries who do not get to walk in to a house and have the basics of being able to turn on a light or tv. Let alone a furnance or air conditioner that without power would not run,. When Matt was in Afghanistan he slept in a mud hut sometimes and I think we take such simple things at least to us they are simple for granted. I am so thankful that I never have to worry about my kids being to cold or hot and I know that they have so many options just because of all the power we have.

Day 14

I am so thankful for technology. Technology is such a wonderful thing it makes my life not only easier but a lot more fun. When Matt was in Iraq he was able to email me and this would not have been possible without technology. We are able to skype with Jazmine and Kaylee which is always so much fun and when we go on vacation the road trips and airplane rides are a lot better with the kindles, ipods and movies. I believe there is to much of a good thing I think sometimes technology sometimes takes away that important face to face and phone to phone interaction that we need with each other so there is a happy balance but I do love my technology.

Day 13

I am so thankful for the rain. I love when it rains. Living here in California we almost never get rain anymore and it makes me so sad. Rain I think is just soothing and peaceful. I love a good thunder storm along with the rain. Not only is it soothing but it provides us such a useful resource. Matt always says I should live in Seattle since it rains so much their and I would love that.
